FORGET ABOUT IT.

FORGET ABOUT IT.

Forget the chains, not because they were never real, but because Christ has truly broken them. Scripture declares, “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed” (John 8:36, KJV). Freedom in Christ is not denial of the past; it is redemption from its power.

The apostle Paul reminds us that “there is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1). What once held you captive no longer defines you, because the cross has already spoken the final word. To keep living under old bondage is to forget what Christ has accomplished.

As Ravi Zacharias often emphasized, Christianity is not merely about behavior modification, but heart transformation, a change so profound that the very source of our captivity is addressed. Christ does not simply loosen chains; He changes the person who once wore them.

Similarly, G. K. Chesterton observed that Christianity does not tell us to ignore reality, but to see it rightly. Grace does not pretend sin never existed; it proclaims that grace is greater still. The gospel is not that we escape judgment by forgetting sin, but that we are reborn through mercy.

So forget about it—not in forgetfulness, but in faith. Forget what God has already forgiven. Forget what Christ has already conquered.

“Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free” (Galatians 5:1).

You are not bound. You are not condemned. You are free—indeed.
